Floating 04:25
I'm catching what's floating by Waiting for friends to get high Yeah, they're on the wrong track We know it's a known fact You tell it to me everyday But I never listen to a word you say I'm watching the ships roll by Wiping this tear from my eye Cos they're on the wrong tack They're gonna be blown back They're sounding warnings everyday But they never listen to a word I say Longing dreams they see me when I sleep Fallen dreams will keep you thinking When you ought to be sleeping I'm watching these trucks roll by Waiving my thumb for a ride But they're on their way now They won't even slow down They treat me like I'm something obscene Well they'll never get to hear a word from me
2.
Sailing on a river you get nowhere til you're gone I believe in rock and roll and it's taken its toll well I know Tell me no lies I see if we ain't through You know I can't believe in you anymore You and me were side by side In the days of our last twilight You and me were side by side In the days of our last twilight Sailing on a river you get nowhere til you're gone People come and go but it's good to know There's a song When you're gone I can feel the whole thing come undone Used to be if we'd lose sight The night would lead us to the light You and me were side by side In the days of our last twilight Sailing on a river you get nowhere til you're gone When you're gone I can feel my whole world come undone Sailing on a river you get nowhere til you're gone

Little Miss Mourning cries Everytime we say goodbye She leaves without warning though Everybody knows to where she goes Little Miss Mourning says That true love never ends She writes it in her stories though Everybody knows the way it goes They're gonna miss you Like the stars buried in your eyes And it will continue Til their souls do rise Little Miss Mourning's gone Onto the great beyond She telegraphs her stories home Though everybody knows who they are from Little Miss Mourning cries Everytime we say goodbye
4.
Even now and even now and even now I see that you were meant for me Every night and every night and every night I find that love will conquer time Stars shine bright Every day and night Stars shine bright for you The moon still glows Everybody knows The moon still glows for you Like a rivers child You keep flowing all the while Til the lights beyond do set you free I believe in you It’s true I believe in you All the while and all the while and all the while We see your love will carry me Stars shine bright Every day and night Stars shine bright for you The moon still glows Everybody knows It still glows for you
5.
You and I were meant to be She told me Don't look back cos you will see The things you say you saw Were never there at all Trip the light that shines on me Til you'd leave All this time we could not find The love we used to share Seemed to go nowhere, nowhere And I wanna know where you're going And I wanna know who you're turning to Yeah, I do So sing a sad song If you're love is gone Sing a sad song Sing a sad song All this time we could not find The love we used to share Seemed to go nowhere, nowhere And I wanna know where you're going And I wanna know who you're turning to Yeah, we do So sing a sad song If you're love is gone Sing a sad song Sing a sad song

Thought about going out Think I'll stay in and get drunk in the house Wanted to be out with you You know I'll miss you But you'll miss me too If you see me in your dreams Sing me a song tonight When you're out there under those lights Sing it strong Sing it loud I can hear those chords going round, round, round If you're singing won't you sing for me And when you're drinking have a drink on me Thought about going out Think I'll stay in and get drunk in the house Tried to see your point of view Hope your dreams will all come true Don't you wonder Just let them go You know I hope to see ya After the show Sing me a song tonight When you're out there under those lights Sing it strong Sing it proud You know I hear your voice going round, round, round If you're singing won't you sing for me And if you're drinking well have a drink on me Thought about going out Think I'll stay in and get drunk in the house Wanted to be out with you You know I'll miss you Don't ya miss me too Don't ya miss me Don't ya miss me too

Slipping By 04:42
Where do all the good times go Lost in all this rock and roll Where will you be when I sleep tonight Who do you see when you dream Stay with me awhile What you don't see you'll never know Cos you go up and leave When you want me to stay But you leave Turn away I get lost in your way I know you're going away Could you stay for today Cos the hours are slipping by They come to you unawares like a landslide The days don't seem to last One follows the other quickly becoming the past Where do all the good times go Like Ray sang so long ago Well you know what they say You won't know till you know Won't know til you go Till you leave Slip away But I'm not happy this way Cos I want you to stay Can you hear what I say Just don't leave me today I wanna see will you be on my mind Many years from now on the line Because the hours are slipping by They come to you unawares like a landslide The days don't seem to last One follows the other quickly becoming the past

That's all I need When the day is done I turn to one Tells me everything's okay Every night and day That's all I feel When I turn to you A light shines through Takes me everywhere I go To everyone I know Everywhere I go It's everything you show When I feel so sad When I feel so bad I know nothing can bring me down Nothing can bring me down today Cos that's all I need That's all I need I'll be there beside you If everything falls again Like those footprints in the sand I'll be carrying you back home, my friend Cos that's all I need That's all I see When I think of you The things you do Stay with me everywhere I go Every night it shows Everywhere we go Every time I know When I feel so sad When I feel so bad I know nothing can bring Nothing can bring me down Nothing can bring me down today That's all I need

Picture 03:26
Well I've got a picture of you and me Finer couple you could never meet We're in love that's for sure We're in love forevermore Well I've got a picture of you and me With the same old people we used to see I know a thing or two about Love lost now that was once avowed In love never in doubt We're in love can't live without Cos what's for sure is what's never in doubt And the people all seem to shout They're in love it's true I'll always be in love with you Cos what's for sure is what's never in doubt And the people all scream and shout They're in love it's true That I'll always be in love with you I've got a picture of you and me We're the same old people we used to be We're in love that's for sure We're in love forevermore

Everything sounds the same It's just another love song with the same refrain Everyone knows the words It's the melancholy tune with the heartsick verse You don't have to ask me And I won't need to tell I can see in your eyes That we're not doing well You won't have to say to me Things I want to hear Tell me no lies Dry your pretty little eyes Cos every song sounds the same It's another one sung with the sad refrain Every heart breaks the same When the one you love's gone and you can't hold on Tell me no lies Dry your pretty little eyes Cos I'll be there for you If you should ever cry Oh, why Oh, why Every note plays the same It's just another love song with the wicked refrain And everyone knows the words It's the counterfeit tune with the tear-stained verse

BIO From ALLMUSIC GUIDE:

Former frontman for the Replacements-inspired Solid Goldsteins, Brady Harris' solo career has diverged from his previous work into a sound altogether more indicative of his Texas roots. Bearing considerable vocal resemblance to John Lennon, Harris crafts moody country-rock with a hard pop edge. Strongly melodic with a confident wit, he combines well-traveled themes with stoic romanticism. Having paid his dues as a starving artist, busking on the streets of Paris and London, Harris found himself in Los Angeles recording one album with his former bandmates before releasing his solo debut in 1997. That album, Next Door to Nowhere, received favorable reviews and was followed by considerable media attention at 1999's NXNW music conference. 1999's Good Luck Stranger was met with near unanimous critical approval, and Harris went on to tour Europe in late 2000. He spent the next two years touring the states where he racked up numerous awards, including $5,000 from the Pontiac Vibe Car Commercial Contest, which helped him finance 2003's highly anticipated Lone Star. —Matt Fink, All Music Guide (www.allmusic.com)

More evidence that it's what's lurking beneath the radar that's really important, Brady Harris - following the familiar career trajectory of starving busker (in London and Paris), accidental recordings, critical acclaim (not the least of which came at the NxNW conference in '99) impressive underground success ($5000 from MP3.com) and still no major label deal - has just released his third album, recorded at home with the assistance of a $500 Shure microphone he won for his roots-grass version of Motorhead's 'Ace Of Spades'. Intrigued? Good, for mere words can never do him justice. Ignore, then, the fact that Harris' voice bears comparisons with John Lennon; ignore the fact that he creates a beguiling brand of alt. power country pop, something like Peter Bruntnell massaging Big Star; ignore the fact that Harris can take on Joe Pernice in his own back yard and win. Ignore these words, let your ears do the judging, and you're left wondering where this California-dwelling Texan has been hiding all your life. -Michael Ornadet, LOGO-MAGAZINE (UK)
